<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically transfer service information stored in another device to a new board without an error in time of a board exchange by collating a common specific code of each the device. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming system has: a first storage means storing the service information for realizing prescribed function processing; a means generating a code peculiar to the image forming system through a two-way data communication means; the service information obtained by performing the two-way data communication means with the code common to all the devices; a means comparing the code peculiar to the image forming system of each the device and a code of an exchanged device when the device constituting the image forming system is exchanged, and deciding the exchanged constituent device; and a meas automatically performing the service information transfer performed between an image recorder and an option device according to a result of the decision means, or a means making an operator designate a transfer source of the service information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
