<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which attains both of a high-speed operation at continuous printing and the shortening of a time required until first printing is ended, and to provide a printing control method. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the printer, printing is performed by forming an unfixed image on a paper, letting the paper through a heating part at a prescribed traveling speed and fixing the image, then, the printed paper is discharged to a paper discharge part. In the printer, the temperature of the heating part is elevated, and at the point of time when the temperature of the heating part reaches the lowest temperature required to fix the image, the temperature of the heating part at the start of printing is predicted with reference to each page in the case of successively printing all the pages of printing data received at that time while continuing the temperature elevation of the heating part, and then, the traveling speed of the paper at fixing the image of the page is decided in accordance with the predicted temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
