<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive image carrier whose rotational position detection is directly measured by simple structure without transmitting the rotation to other rotation detection mechanism, is not easily influenced by adverse effects such as secular changes or environmental changes such as dust or the like and is easily, highly accurately and surely detected by preventing the enter of disturbance and whose components can be easily handled, and to provide an image forming apparatus provided with the image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: The image carrier includes a drum-shaped rotary drum 1 rotatably held to carry a formed image, a rotational position detection part 3 formed on the end part side of an image forming area 2 of the rotary drum 1 and a rotational position detecting window part 4 which does not include an opened part for transmitting detection light for detecting a rotational position in the thickness direction of the rotational position detection part 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
