<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of accurately predicting the lifetime of a film-like rotating body, and to provide an image forming apparatus provided with it. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device, for performing heating and pressuring fixing, by sandwiching and conveying a recording material P carrying non-fixing images at a fixing part N of a heater 14 and a pressure roller 9, includes a fixing means, comprising the heater 14 and a fixing film 8, flanges 13a and 13b for regulating the position of the width direction of the fixing film 8, and the pressure roller 9 that is in contact with the reverse side face of a face-carrying non-fixing images of the recording material P by being pressure-contacted via the fixing film 8 on the heater 14.
