PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver or the like configured such that the receiver judges whether or not distribution data such as contents data stored in a buffer memory can be recorded (stored) on a recording medium such as a HD (Hard Disk) and informs a user about a result of the judgement.

SOLUTION: The receiver is characterized in including: a reception means for receiving distribution data distributed from an information delivery apparatus via a network; a storage means for storing the received distribution data; a recording propriety judgement means for judging whether or not the distribution data stored in the storage means can be recorded on the recording medium; and a notice control means that allows a notice means to inform the user about a result of the judgement.
