PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely avoid deterioration in display quality due to a difference in spectral transmissivity, depending on the gradients by color components of color filters constituting a color wheel, without giving thermal influence of light, from a light source lamp reflected by the color wheel on a light reflection lamp. SOLUTION: The color wheel 30, coloring transmitted light on a time-division basis, by selectively inserting color filters of a plurality of color components which are arranged in divided regions along the circumference into an optical path, has an even number of, for example, pairs of color filters 30r1, 30gl and 30b1, and 30r2, 30g2 and 30b2 arranged by identical colors along the circumference so that the filters 30r1, 30g1 and 30b1 are tilted in a fixed direction, and the remaining filters 30r2, 30g2 and 30b2 are tilted in the opposite direction from the fixed direction at the same angle.
