PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing unit which can stabilize the surface temperature of the heating roller near the temperature set up, in advance, and to obtain stabilized fixing characteristics by gradually making hunting converge, when printing. SOLUTION: This fixing unit has correction time calculation means for obtaining the correction time for the current supply time, and supplies currents to the heater of the heating roller by correcting the current supply time at printing. Furthermore, the unit has a memory for sequentially storing the correction times calculated in the correction time calculation means, an updating means for determining the updating time by checking the output of the temperature sensor, an averaging means for calculating the average of the correction time calculated thus far, when updating the current supply time, and a current supply time updating means for generating updated current supply time and adding the average to the current supply time.
