PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable partition which exerts excellent fire-resisting properties. SOLUTION: The movable partition has a first panel 111 which has an almost rectangular shape, and has steps extending in a thickness direction over almost the entire length of an end face thereof; a second panel 112 which has an almost rectangular shape, has steps extending in a thickness direction over the entire length of an end face thereof, and is arranged such that its steps are fitted to the steps of the end face of the first panel when the end faces of the respective panels abut on each other; a coupling means 120 for coupling between the first and second panels 111, 112 in a relatively rotatable manner; and a first filler 130 which has a thermally expandable properties, and is filled in a groove formed in either the end face of the first panel 111 or the end face of the second panel 112 over the entire length. The first panel or the second panel has a wooden first surface member forming one surface of the partition. A movable partition assembly is formed of the movable partitions.
