The braided metal sleeve (1) for fitting on rubber hoses has a cylindrical bush (9) fitted on one end. A second bush (4) of larger diameter is then fitted over the sleeve, so that it is held between the two bushes. Independent claims are included for: (A) rubber hoses fitted with the sleeve; (B) a method for making the sleeve by fitting the two bushes on it; and a method for making rubber hoses fitted with the sleeve in which the sleeve is produced first and is then fitted on the hose.
