The system has an operating unit controlling a sensor and/or processing of the signals of the sensor. A configuration unit (16) has an input interface (20) to input value of sensitivity parameters. The unit (16) determines two values of operational parameters and transmits the values to the operating unit based on the input value of sensitivity parameters using given combination of sensitivity and operational parameters. An independent claim is also included for a method for calibration of sensitivity of a coding system of a coordinate measuring system.
