<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera which enables a user to acquire an operation method by higher operability. <P>SOLUTION: The digital camera 1 is provided with operation members 21, 22, 24, 26, 29, ... for receiving instructions by an operator. Pseudo setting operations are carried out in accordance with an operation of the operation members in an explanation mode for explaining a method of using the digital camera 1. When a particular operation (depression operation of camera mode button 39, etc.,) is detected in the explanation mode, set contents in the pseudo setting operation are reflected in the actual set contents.
