PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a semiconductor device which uses an organic material for a semiconductor layer and suitably used even in the case that flexibility is requested, in particular, irrespective of a use to which the semiconductor device is applied, and hardly causes trouble such as cracking and peeling. SOLUTION: A substrate for an electrooptical device is disclosed which has, on a substrate, a plurality of data lines, a plurality of scanning lines crossing the plurality of data lines, a plurality of transistors formed in accordance with the plurality of intersections, and a plurality of 1st sealing layers formed in accordance with the plurality of transistors; and each transistor has a channel region formed of the organic semiconductor layer, and each 1st sealing layer is formed so as to cover one of the channel regions and also formed of an inorganic material.
