PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate a superposing position of a broadcast confirmation code to enhance reliability of a recording operation at the time of material reproduction and to maintain superposition timing of the broadcast confirmation code constant even when starting and end positions of a material are finely adjusted at the time of reproduction. SOLUTION: In this transmission system using a video and sound recording and reproducing apparatus which records and reproduces a video and sound signal of a CM material, it has an auxiliary data superposing device which superposes a predetermined broadcast past history confirmation code in a fixed period from the head of the video and sound signal to be recorded, a video and sound recording and reproducing device which records, reproduces and outputs the video and sound signal on which the predetermined broadcast past history confirmation code is superposed and an auxiliary data superposing position compensation device which superposes the predetermined broadcast past history confirmation code superposed on the video and sound signal to be reproduced on a broadcast past history confirmation code at superposing timing corresponding to a broadcasting station which transmits it again.
