PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relax the influence of heat history in the process for manufacturing an ink jet recording head and the stress generated in the adhesion face between a heater substrate and a base plate due to heat generated in printing. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head comprises a heater substrate on which a heater section for generating thermal energy to deliver an ink and a plate member installed in the area other than the heater section on the heater substrate. The surface for installing the heater substrate in the plate member is provided with a plurality of slit sections by a predetermined spacing in the direction perpendicular to the arrangement direction of the heater section formed on the heater substrate.
