Automatic switching of transmission bands used to connect medical equipment such as an electronic stethoscope to a receiver

An item of medical equipment such as an electronic stethoscope transmits digital signal from a body probe to a receiver operating with the same transmission band code using a Bluetooth or infra red link. A test is made to see if the band is occupied and if so the transmitter and receiver are switched to an alternative band.
