FLAT FLUORESCENT LAMP AND BACKLIGHT UNIT HAVING THE SAME

Provided is a flat fluorescent lamp comprising a main body with a plurality of discharge spaces therein, and a plurality of electrodes for applying voltage selectively to the discharge space, each electrode associating with each discharge space and independently formed on the main body. The electrodes comprise a first electrodes and a second electrodes for applying voltage alternatively to neighboring discharge spaces in the main body. Alternatively, the electrodes comprise at least two sets of electrodes for applying voltage selectively to a plurality of discharge regions which include at least one discharge space respectively. The flat fluorescent lamp is highly luminous and enhances the display quality of moving scene in an LCD device.
