COGENERATION SYSTEM AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

A cogeneration system and a control method thereof are provided to supply power generated by a generator to a power supply of a building, thereby removing any additional emergency generators for power failure of the building. In a control method of a cogeneration system, an external power supply is determined to be normal or not(S1). If not normal, connection between the external power supply and a power supply of a building is blocked(S2), and an engine and a generator are driven(S3). Electricity generated by the generator is supplied to the power supply of the building(S4). In the case of a request for driving an air conditioner(S5), the electricity generated by the generator is supplied to the power supply of the building and the air conditioner respectively(S6). If the external power supply is normal and the air conditioner is to be driven(S7), then the engine and the generator are driven to supply electricity to the air conditioner(S8,S9).
