A two-stage LED signboard system and a control method thereof are provided to enhance user's convenience by controlling the two-stage LED signboard system with a remote controller. A two-stage LED(Light Emitting Diode) portion(10) having two stages includes plural pixel panels connected in the longitudinal direction. An IR(InfraRed) remote controller(20) includes a basic key comprising an input key and an effect key, and an extension key comprising a size selection key and a stage selection key. A signboard driving microcontroller(40) includes a memory for storing fonts, receives a signboard control command signal, controls a signboard according to the signboard control command signal, and includes upper and lower stage output portions. Driving modules(50) are provided to the respective pixel panels, connected to the upper or lower output portion via a data cable, and output a light emitting control signal. A power supply(60) supplies power to the IR receiver, the signboard driving microcontroller, and the respective driving modules. |
