Interior car equipment device and its assembly method

The dashboard has a rigid support frame (13) internally delimiting a housing (15). A flexible lining (17) covers the housing and includes a peripheral fixing region (19) fixed with the frame. The frame has upper and lower walls (21, 23) presenting outer surfaces (24A, 24B) partially delimiting a plane surface (26) of the dashboard. The walls are connected by a hollow region (25) with clamping walls (43, 45). The walls (43, 45) form, with connecting walls (27, 29), mounting clamps (47, 49) that fix the region. An independent claim is also included for a method of assembling an equipment piece for a motor vehicle.
