The aim of the invention is to provide a method and a system that allow, in situ and in real time, to make a statement on the actual value of process parameters and on the accuracy of the measurement. For this purpose, the operating parameters of a sensor are adjusted to its gentle values and are brought for a selected measuring time to the values suitable for an optimum measurement. The invention relates to a method and a system for determining the parameters of a process medium, especially for determining the concentration of one or more gases using at least one gas-sensitive sensor.
