The compartment has a cross beam (1) including a hydraulically formed section for A-column (15). The A-column laterally extends a windscreen up to a middle area of a vehicle side between a front roof joint and a middle roof joint of a B-column. The cross beam has an integrally welded connecting unit for welded connection with a body part. The hydraulically formed section extends the cross beam up to a front roof joint (13).
