Method for optimisation of a plate stock

The method involves putting plates on an available place during storage and relocation of plates, where the plates have a priority interval comprising a priority. The plates are removed from a plate stock in a removing place (E), whereby the priority of all plates provided in the plate stock is re-determined with respect to the requirement in a downstream production process, during removal of the plate. An independent claim is also included for a data carrier for executing a method of optimizing a plate stock.
