A mobile communication terminal with an XML(Extensible Markup Language) conversion function and an operating method thereof are provided to set a changed type by changing an element or a structure of an XML, and to convert XML data according to the set type when the XML data is transceived, thereby increasing the efficiency of data transmission. A memory(40) stores changed/set XML-type data. An XML converter(20) converts transceived XML data into the set XML data. A controller(10) generates inputted data as XML data, and reads the XML data converted by the XML converter(20) to display the read XML data. The XML converter(20) converts the XML data generated by the controller(10) into the set XML data by changing an element or a structure of the XML data.
