<p>An improved design of membrane valve for a duct, e.g. for food and pharmaceutical applications, has a saddle shaped seat (6) in one side of the duct (3) and fitted with a shaped membrane (7) secured by a clamping element (8). The valve opened and closed by a shaped pressure element (12) and a drive shaft (15, 16). The shape of the valve is such that in the open setting no part extends into the duct profile thus permitting the passage of cleaning elements such as pigs.</p> |
