The procedure, using a counter-flow scrubbing column (4) in which the gas flow (F1) is scrubbed by a liquid that fixes the chlorine in the gas, employs a first stage in which the scrubbing is carried out without extraction so that the chlorine is concentrated in the liquid, followed by a second stage in which the concentrated chlorine is solidified in a matrix. The scrubbing liquid is water containing at least one element in the form of a salt such as soda or sodium bicarbonate that promotes the fixing of chlorine. The column has a reservoir (24) at the bottom for the used scrubbing liquid, and a recycling system (32) that returns it to sprinklers (20) at the top without extraction. |
