A dispense tap for carbonated beverages such as beer, lager and cider has a manually operable valve (22) with a member (24) that engages a valve seat (30) to prevent fluid flow when the valve (22) is closed and is moved away from the valve seat (30) to allow fluid flow when the valve (22) is opened. The valve member (24) has a plurality of apertures (35) in an annular portion (34) that is a close fit in the bore (20) to confine fluid to flow through the apertures and create turbulent flow that controls CO2 breakout during dispense. |
