The proposed high-torque direct-current motor with combined excitation contains a stator with a laminated core, an armature winding, which is installed at the stator core, a salient-pole rotor with ferromagnetic pole shoes and permanent magnets, which are installed at the pole shoes, an excitation winding, which is installed at the rotor, and a commutator with current-collecting brushes, which are installed at the rotor shaft. The stator core contains magnetically-isolated U-shaped ferromagnetic rods that are arranged symmetrically relative to the rotor. The number of the rods is the same as the number of the poles and, accordingly, the number of the permanent magnets of the rotor. The end parts of the rods are fixed do the end plates of the stator. The sections of the armature winding are installed at the slots between the rods. The rotor is made of soft-magnetic material. The commutator is designed for switching the sections of the armature winding.
