The invention relates to the ferrous metallurgy, namely, to the design of device for application of thermal insulation coating on the casting molds, and it can be used for production of forming rolls. A device for application of thermal insulation coating on the casting molds contains a sprayer, a frame and a support for installation of chill molds. The sprayer includes a disk with driving shaft, a container with loading holes and internal elastic shell, air operated valve, ducts for supply of compressed air to the container and air operated valve, outlet cone and device for adjustment of clearance between the cone and the disk. The device is equipped with the connection with a catch, drives of sprayer and connection with the rope traction bodies, tension device of the rope of the drive of connection and centering tube with bearing support. The connection is executed with internal cylindrical boring with formation of working end face and conical boring in its lower part. Catch is executed in the form of a mechanism, which includes twohooks, hinged two-element device and driving rope. Hooks are hingedly attached on the support with possibility of interaction with working end face of connection and are spring-loaded relative to eachother. Driving rope is connected with the hooks through hinged two-element device. Driving shaft of disk is hollow and a centering tube is installed in it, the latter is rigidly connected with the container and through the bearing support - with the driving shaft. The cable layer is made from a set of elements of frame design: two end and intermediate elements, and rods, the elements are hingedly connected between them and in series. The rods are hinged at the centre of each intermediate element, in the center of each rod, perpendicularly to its longitudinal axis, are executed guiding holes. By end components the cable layer is hingedly connected with the frame and with the sprayer, and in guiding holes of rods and into centering tube of sprayer is inserted the rope of the drive of connection. The invention ensures the increase of the uniformity of application of coating and reduction ofoverall size of installation on the height.
