Disclosed is a roll for molten metal plating baths comprising a hollow body portion which is to be in contact with a steel sheet and a shaft portion which is joined to the body portion. At least the body portion is composed of a silicon nitride ceramic material having a thermal conductivity of not less than 50 W/(m.K) at room temperature, and the body portion has a surface roughness average (Ra) of 1-20 mum. The body portion and the shaft portion may preferably be joined together by shrinkage fitting. |
