摘要 A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce the cost by driving electrodes with one board by applying driving waveform only to a scan electrode while applying constant voltage to the sustain electrode. A method for driving one frame by dividing the frame into plural sub fields in a plasma display device having plural first and second electrodes(X,Y), plural third electrodes(A) crossing the first and second electrodes, and plural cells formed by the first, second, and third electrodes includes the steps of: applying first scan pulse of first voltage and first address pulse of second voltage higher than the first voltage to the first and third electrodes of the cell to emit light, during an address period of the first one of plural sub fields; executing sustain discharge in the emission cell by applying fourth voltage higher than the third voltage and fifth voltage lower than the third voltage to the first electrodes while applying the third voltage to the second electrode, during a sustain period of the first sub field; applying second scan pulse of sixth voltage higher than the first voltage and second address pulse of seventh voltage lower than the sixth voltage to the first and third electrodes of the non-emission cell of the first sub field, during an address period of the second one of plural sub fields; and executing sustain discharge in the emission cell by applying the fourth and fifth voltages to the first electrodes in turn while applying the third voltage to the second electrode, during the sustain period of the second sub field.
