The ceiling mount for medical equipment has a parking brake to block a relative movement between a first element and second element movable relative to it. First (1) and second (2) interacting engagement elements are provided on the respective elements of the mount, and a pretensioning element pretensions a rocking lever (4) into a position in which the second engagement element in pushed into an engaged position with the first. The second element disengages from the first by the excitation of an electromagnet (8) which acts against the pretensioning force of the pretensioning element.
