Fire engine has holder for ladder on roof and device by which ladder can be lowered to side of engine and raised onto roof again after use

Fire engine (1) has holder (4,4') for ladder (3). The ladder on the vehicle roof (2) can be positioned into an upper position parallel to fire engine roof in the lengthwise direction of the fire engine. A device is attached to the engine by means of which the ladder together with holder can be brought down from the upper position to a lower position at the side (10) of the fire engine and back on top of the roof again. The ladder can therefore rest in position in the lengthwise direction of the fire engine. The device contains a pivot mechanism (14) to pivot the ladder from the upper to lower positton and back and a lifting mechanism (12,16,18) to lower and lift the ladder.
