摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of ensuring excellent safety while keeping productivity equivalent to that of a conventional one, and rapidly chargeable. <P>SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is characterized by that a plurality of rolled electrode bodies each having a nearly oval cross section and composed by spirally winding, by interposing a separator, a positive electrode containing, as an active material, a specific lithium-containing composite oxide and having an active material-containing layer containing the active material formed on a collector surface, and a negative electrode containing, as an active material, a material capable of storing and releasing lithium and having an active material-containing layer containing the active material formed on a collector surface are arranged side by side in the same battery armoring body; the collector of the positive electrode is formed of foil-like aluminum or aluminum alloy and has a thickness of 12-40 &mu;m; the collector of the negative electrode is formed of foil-like copper or copper alloy and has a thickness of 6-30 &mu;m; and the thickness of the active material-containing layer of the positive electrode and that of the the active material-containing layer of the negative electrode are each 2-35 &mu;m in a part where the positive electrode and the negative electrode face each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
