PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of totally improving the image processing speed by revising address arrangement of image drawing areas of a main memory or the like so as to simplify the arithmetic processing (that is, image drawing processing) in the case of storing output image data generated from intermediate language data to the image drawing areas. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is configured such that the apparatus is provided with the main memory 3 including the image drawing areas 30 wherein output image data in response to at least one band region are stored, the arrangement of the addresses of the image drawing areas 30 are rearranged on the basis of a prescribed rule, the output image data are generated on the basis of the intermediate language data of the band, and the generated output image data are sequentially stored in the unit of one word to the image drawing areas 30 whose addresses are rearranged.
