PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cross-flow fan hardly causing variations in positional relation between a sensor and an angle indication means for indicating the swinging position of a casing and proving easy assembly working and good productivity. SOLUTION: The cross-flow fan has a construction such that air is radially sucked into an impeller 2 through a part of the outer periphery of the impeller 2 rotating in the casing 1, flows through the remaining outer peripheral portion and radially blows to the outside, and is adapted to change a blowing direction of wind by swinging the casing 1. A crank 5 of a drive section for swinging the casing 1 is provided with a light shielding plate 9 which is formed with a light shielding part 11 for indicating a swinging angle in a circumferential direction. A light sensor 14 for detecting the light shielding part 11 is provided on a fixing structure such as a motor fixing table 7 or the like near the light shielding plate 9. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
