PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face member fixing method for positively preventing a face member from slipping out of a substrate, and easily and inexpensively mounting the face member on the substrate. SOLUTION: The face member fixing method is comprised of (a) a step in which a plurality of fixing members 14 each having a bearing base body 20 and an adhesive layer 22 arranged at least on a front surface of the bearing base body 20, are fixed to a front surface of the substrate 12 by means of fixtures 18, and (b) a step in which the face member 16 is pressed onto the adhesive layer 22 on the front surface of the fixing member 14. These steps are carried out in this order. Specifically, the fixing member 14 is positively fixed to the substrate 12 by means of the fixture 18 such as a staple, and thereafter the face member 16 is fixed to the fixing member 14 via the adhesive layer 22. Therefore, irrespective of the state of the front surface of the substrate 12, the face member 16 can be positively fixed to the substrate 12, and when reforming of a building takes place, actual work can be carried out with the existing face member left as it is.
