Classes 20(3) and 137 A louvre carrying bar 1 has a longitudinal flange 11 forming a weather strip and a drain channel 13 is formed inside the flange adjacent the bar. As shown, the bar 1 has flanges 3, 4 and the flange 3 is doubled over and joggled at 12 to provide the flange 11 and drain channel 13. Louvre clips 8 are mounted on pivot pins 7 offset from the longitudinal axis of bar 1 and spring 27 mounted in split studs 29 retain glass or metal louvres 9 against flanges 31, 32. Figure 1 shows the operating mechanism: the pivot pins 7 have keyed to them arms 20 which are pivoted to an operating rod 21. A toggle linkage 23 pivoted to the rod 21 and 24 pivoted to the bar 1 operates to lock the louvres in the closed position. The link 23 has an extension 28 which in the closed position bears on the rod 21. An embossed semi-circle 17 seals the pivots 7 against weather. |
