<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately correct arrival time order of a packet including time information in transit on a network even when the time inversion occurs by time setting. <P>SOLUTION: In a packet capture device for correcting time of a local timer to the standard, time of an NTP server, the time information of the packet stored in a memory is corrected by following procedures. Time deviation Δt<SB>i</SB>of the local timer is calculated and it is determined whether the time is fast or not (ST7). When Δt<SB>i</SB>is not larger than 0, t<SB>in</SB>is set for the local timer (ST8), and max(t<SB>ie</SB>-n, t<SB>in</SB>) is set for the local timer when Δt<SB>i</SB>is larger than 0 (ST9).
