PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging unit which is small in size and height even when it is equipped with a movable lens and a light volume control unit. SOLUTION: The imaging unit is equipped with a lens drive unit 5 which drives the lens 3 and a light volume control drive unit 6 which drives the light volume control unit 7. The lens drive unit 5 and the light volume control drive unit 6 are provided so as to overlap with each other in the direction vertical to an optical axis X and to be located outside of the same side as the imaging plane 22 of an imaging element 18.
