PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable coil component by solving the problem that, during manufacture, an air bubble is trapped in the resin material at a corner of a core, and the air bubble cannot be removed, which degrades the reliability of the coil component. SOLUTION: The boundary surface between a protruded portion and a base is composed of a curved surface that passes through the center of a planar coil 34, and whose curvature radius R is 30μm or above. The boundary surface may be a flat surface including a line segment of 30μm or above inclined with respect to the principal plane of the base. In this case, a boundary surface BS1 exists between the base 111 and first and second outer legs 112, respectively, and an air bubble is less prone to be trapped in the bonding material 40 positioned in proximity to each boundary surface during manufacture. More specific description will be given. Fluctuation is reduced in the distance between a coil 34 or a coil peripheral material 33 and the inner wall of a core 11, and an air bubble is less prone to be trapped in the bonding material 40 during manufacture.
