PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean the air inside a memory medium drive by efficiently removing nano-sized fine dust. SOLUTION: In this air cleaning method for the memory medium drive, an ionizing electrode is provided to generate a corona discharge, and an air nozzle is inserted into the air inlet formed on the drive case to blow air into the drive. Further, a dust collector electrode is provided in the drive to collect the ionized dust, and an air exhaust nozzle is inserted into the air outlet formed on the drive case to eject the air to the outside of the memory medium drive. By electrifying the dust inside the drive by applying voltages to the ionizing electrode and duct collector electrode, the dust is collected on the dust collector electrode and ejected out of the drive through the air exhaust nozzle.
