PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type cathode by a simple method in manufacturing metallic fibers by a plating method, thereby to stably obtain the metallic fibers having specified sectional shapes and dimensions. SOLUTION: The cathode of the metallic fiber manufacturing apparatus comprises laminating a plurality of the laminates superposed with a plurality of sheets of conductor disks and non-conductor disks or the conductor disks of a circular shape formed by coating both surfaces of such laminates with insulative resins to form the laminate, and molding the laminate to a drum shape. The metallic fibers having the arbitrary sectional sizes can be obtained by adjusting the external diameter and thickness of the conductor disk and non-conductor disk. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
