PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a time is required for registering a portable telephone on a telephone directory, its registration is not updated automatically, there is no address in the information of the telephone directory and the addresses must be made to listen by making a telephone call. SOLUTION: A control system 1 providing the portable telephone 3 with a telephone-directory retrieval service, a telephone-directory server 4 accessed by the control system 1 and a portable-telephone company system 2 are connected by an internet 100, and the portable telephone 3 is connected to the internet 100 through a radio network 101 and the portable-telephone company system 2. The portable telephone 3 has a telephone-directory storage section, a voice-character conversion means, a telephone-directory access means and a retrieval-service demand means, the telephone-directory storage section is retrieved by a voice input and the telephone-directory storage section is confirmed when there is no telephone number or the like. A Web telephone-directory retrieval is required to the control system 1, the control system retrieves a Web telephone-directory server 4 and the result is replied to the portable telephone 3. The telephone-directory storage section is updated by the information selected as the result, and a map using the selected address as a destination is received by the portable-telephone company system 2.
