A refrigerator having a compressor (120) on a top surface section of a heat insulating box body (101). A refrigeration room is integrally formed by placing a foam heat insulation material (132) in a heat insulating segment that forms a refrigeration room (110) as the uppermost storage room. This increases rigidity of the uppermost storage room, and as a result, vibration generated by the compressor placed on the top surface section of the uppermost storage room can be suppressed from propagating to a refrigerator body. Also, such a phenomenon that the vibration from the compressor propagates to other paths and noise occurs by vibration of the parts can be suppressed from occurring.
