<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy by reducing a filter-forced regeneration time for a hybrid vehicle using a diesel engine. <P>SOLUTION: This motor controller of the hybrid vehicle comprises filter 33 collecting particulates in the exhaust gases of the diesel engine 1, a forced regenerating means 35 forcibly regenerating the filter 33, and a battery charging means 41 charging a battery 6 by converting the output of the engine 1 to an electric power based on the charged state of the battery 6.
