<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which eliminates the need to manage user information, an audience history, etc., excludes ambiguity based upon the context of video contents, and can recommend proper video contents. <P>SOLUTION: A video content database 15 previously stores contexts of existent or new video contents. When video contents that a viewer likes are inputted to a video content input section 11, a context constitution section divides the video contents into small sections and estimates small-section kind information to generate a context. A context similarity measurement section 13 collates the generated context with the context of video contents read out of the video content database 15 to measure their similarity.
