PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To photograph an image in which luminance saturation is reduced in comparison with the prior art.

SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 1 comprises an imaging element 2 including a plurality of pixels G11-Gmnfor switching between a linear conversion mode for linearly converting light into an electric signal, and a logarithmic transformation mode for logarithmic transformation based on the quantity of incident light, and a control device 46 for controlling the imaging element 2. The control device 46 causes the imaging element 2 to perform consecutive photographing by shifting a point of inflection Q as a boundary between the linear conversion mode and the logarithmic transformation mode.
