<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate and a surface illumination device capable of eliminating reflection of a light source and luminance spots. <P>SOLUTION: As for the light guide plate 2, a rectangular cubic shape like a sheet is formed, a distance between a surface part 8 and a rear face part 5 becomes minimum at an incident end face part 3 near a light source 10, a distance between the surface part 8 and the rear face part 5 becomes maximum at a counter incidence end face part 4 being at the maximum distance from the incidence end face part 3, the rear face part 5 is made as a stair shape that a gentle first tilted face part 6 turned in the opposite direction from the incident end face part 3 and an acute-edged second tilted face part 7 are alternately and continuously connected, these faces are made have a mirror face, and a fine optical deflection element is installed at the surface part 8 or/and the rear face part 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
