摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head cap etc. which reduce to the utmost time for stability of pressure in a suction channel after the completion of suction processing, and which also reduce the consumption of a functional liquid to the utmost. <P>SOLUTION: The head cap 121 closely adheres to a nozzle surface 53 of a functional-droplet ejection head 27 in such a manner as to be freely brought into contact with/separated from it, and seals a nozzle which is formed on the nozzle surface 53, so as to serve for the suction processing for sucking in the functional fluid in the head 27 from the nozzle. The head cap comprises: a sealing part 141 for sealing the nozzle by closely adhering to the nozzle surface 53; a cap body 142 which supports the sealing part 141, and inside which an in-cap channel 161 communicating with a suction means 102 for performing the suction processing is formed; and a channel opening/closing means 143 which is interposed in the in-cap channel 161 so as to open/close the in-cap channel 161. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p>
