PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustible treating method for treating combustibles without preciously crushing them while preventing the discharge of char and tar deposited on bed materials even in the temperature drop of a fluidized bed to about 550°C or lower, e.g.

SOLUTION: Fluidizing gas is supplied to a drying/thermally decomposing chamber 10 filled with the bed materials for fluidizing the bed materials in the drying/thermally decomposing chamber 10, and the combustibles 50 are supplied into the Fluidized bed in the drying/thermally decomposing chamber 10. The bed materials are delivered from a combustion chamber 12 filled with the bed materials into the drying/thermally decomposing chamber 10 for drying the combustibles 50, and the dried combustibles 50 and the bed materials in the drying/thermally decomposing chamber 10 are supplied into the combustion chamber 12. The fluidizing gas including oxygen is supplied to the combustion chamber 12 for fluidizing the bed materials in the combustion chamber 12, and the supplied combustibles 50 is burnt in the fluidized bed in the combustion chamber 12. The bed materials in the combustion chamber 12 is supplied into the drying/thermally decomposing chamber 10.
